About

How this works

Verinar exists because Nigerian travellers get turned away for things nobody told them — a transit visa, four months of passport validity, a missing vaccination card. We write down what the published rules say, and when we last read them.

Who we are

A small team in Lagos and abroad who have been refused, delayed and sent home often enough to build this. We are not an agency, we do not process visas, and we do not take a commission on any application.

Where the information comes from

Every rule on this site is taken from a primary source: an embassy or consulate page, a national immigration or border authority, a health ministry, or an airline's own carriage conditions. We quote what those pages say in plain language rather than paraphrasing a third-party blog.

Each rule stores the exact link it came from. That link is shown next to the rule, so you can open the official page yourself before you spend money on anything.

Every rule carries a date

Rules change without notice, so an undated rule is worthless. Each entry records the day a human last opened the source and confirmed it. That date is printed with the rule and summarised as a stamp at the bottom of every result and country guide.

Internally, anything not re-checked in six months is flagged for review. If we hold no verified, dated rule for a country, that country does not appear in the app at all nothing is shown to you unless it has both a source link and a check date.

Where we are honest about uncertainty

Some things that stop people are not written down anywhere. Officer discretion at check-in, or patterns reported by airline staff, are labelled as exactly that: "officer judgement, not a written rule", or "reported by airline staff, not published officially." We would rather tell you than pretend the border is tidier than it is.

What we do not do

Verinar is not legal advice and not a visa service. Final entry authorisation rests solely with border control and the operating airline. Always confirm with your airline before you travel.

Corrections

If a rule here is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will re-check the source and update the date. Corrections come before everything else on our list.

We are collecting the list now. One email when a requirement on this route changes, nothing else.
